Wayne stood anxiously in the bathroom
Eyeing his pimply face.
Time was ominously ticking away
His skin a terrible disgrace.
His eyes travelled up to his hairstyle
He sighed, things didn’t look well.
His head looked like a collapsed hay-stack
Despite his spray and his gel.
He splashily washed all his rude bits
And even washed under his arms
Deciding to do a good job
To make the most of his dubious charms.
The reason for his desperate actions?
Why was our Wayne trying to get clean?
After all boys have an aversion to water
And he was still only sixteen.

From every pore she is oozing with sex.
Wayne has persuaded this nymphet

And now in a fit of blind panic
He finds all his faults, but too late.
His pimples are past camoflaging

He stared in despair at his reflection
Thinking “Why do I look such a burke?”
Then he saw in a flash something brilliant.
Something that elevated him up with the great……
Like Noel Gallagher he’d only one eyebrow
And he strutted proudly off on his date.

What Am I Missing With Oasis?

Probably my least favorite band of al time, yet people still rate them highly as a band?
*I* think Noel and Liam Gallagher are *the* two most arrogant pricks to ever walk the face the earth who think they are 10000% better than they really are. Bland basslines and generic riffs, overrated lyrics, whiney vocals, short and weak guitar solos, And I really think they are direct Beatles rip-offs trying to smother and disguise it with tracing a modern “alternative” sound to it, and does the drummer just bang pans and pots together? Really doesn’t keep any consistent pattern going and actually interferes with the ryhthm they were trying to pursuit, I just think overall as a band, they are a mess.
No offense to Oasis fans, but what am I missing here? Can you give me some reasons to why they are not as bad as I’ve interpreted them to be. And can we keep this civil and constructive, whoever attempts to turn this into a mud-sling, I will block.

i always listen to the words of a song carefully, bands that just make up shitty songs with meaningless lyrics should all be put infront of a firing squad imo but anyway…
for me i have a few:
kings of leon – use somebody (perfectly sums up how i feel sometimes, can really relate to it, and KOL are one of my favourite bands)
red hot chili peppers – don’t forget me (again can really relate to it sometimes and RHCP are favourite band with one of the greatest guitarists in history)
metallica – nothing else matters (such a beautiful song, so much feeling and i can really relate to this one – and metallica rule)
also like champagne supernova by oasis (liam gallagher is a tool tho)

i think the attitude of liam gallagher the ethics of the sex pistols the greatness of the beatles with a female lead singer who doesnt give a toss about being in magazines and all that crap whos really good at guitar like a band that fully revives music and peoples love of it with a massive following and wil just wipe all this hip hop indie fake bullsh*t out of the way without conforming to the ideals of society etc …

Answers, nominated 350+ songs, your favorites of the year, to face-off in head-to-head battles, tournament style, to determine the best songs of this calendar year.

Experimental for sure, but the musicianship and pop hooks across their breakthrough Merriweather Post Pavilion have put that album, even though it came out in the first weeks of January, at the top of many Best of 2009 lists. A solid entry that got the second-highest number of nominations.

Some modern pop music seems to mistake trashiness and bland sexual references for coy sexiness with a slice of wit and imagry… a wink and a nudge. The Arctic Monkeys this year showed a willingness to embrace new sounds, new ideas, and the ability to shift and change. It may not be their most lasting or important album, but it shows that they can be a lasting and important band. Josh Homme’s (Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age, Desert Sessions, Them Crooked Vultures, Eagles of Death Metal) production can be felt all over this song. If we all had the time to listen to this song more than once — it would do so much better. It’s a grower.

Seemingly epic rock, with it’s foundations in pop. Their new album seems like it was glossed over. I don’t remember much attention being paid. They’ve gone the distance though, surviving the glossy pop of the early 2000s, and staying true to their arena-rock roots all the way through to today.
So listen to them, and pick a winner from each match up. I’ll be nicer to pop songs in the future.
