What Song(s) Mean(s) The Most To You Right Now? And Why?

i always listen to the words of a song carefully, bands that just make up shitty songs with meaningless lyrics should all be put infront of a firing squad imo but anyway…
for me i have a few:
kings of leon – use somebody (perfectly sums up how i feel sometimes, can really relate to it, and KOL are one of my favourite bands)
red hot chili peppers – don’t forget me (again can really relate to it sometimes and RHCP are favourite band with one of the greatest guitarists in history)
metallica – nothing else matters (such a beautiful song, so much feeling and i can really relate to this one – and metallica rule)
also like champagne supernova by oasis (liam gallagher is a tool tho)

ain’t no reason – brett dennen ( i really like how someone finally started writing about political issues instead of getting laid… )
fix you – coldplay ( this song is different from the normal “sobbing” song… chris martin is genius )
flightless bird, american mouth – iron & wine ( his lyrics are really different but i like how you can interpret them to be whatever you think of them )
failure – laura marling ( enough said. )
you be the anchor that keeps my feet on the ground, i’ll be the wings that keep your heart in the clouds – mayday parade

I don’t even know where to start, so many good songs. But I know what you mean about the meaningless lyrics and I agree about the firing squad.

    At this time?
    Let me see…
Not Enough by Our Lady Peace. There’s just something about it that I really connect to and I do enjoy the lyrics.
Heaven’s Not Enough by Steve Conte, composed by Yoko Kanno. It’s just an all together amazing song, and is quite mellow and soothing. It can easily calm me down.
Hurt by Nine Inch Nails (plus Johnny Cash version)…it’s just so…true.
Leave Out All The Rest by Linkin Park – I can relate to it very much and it really gets me thinking about where my life is going and such.
Ce Soir and Je Saigne Encore by Kyo – both French songs. The band has good lyrics, a nice sound and the lead singer has a nice voice so they are all together good. With lyrics, translated from French, like “And if it’s life you want then you can have mine.” and “I’m bleeding again, I smile at death, all this red on my body, I hurt you with my last effort.” I just can’t help but to feel this energy surging through me…really powerful lyrics for me.
Slow Motion by Third Eye Blind – it’s a beautiful song and it really strikes thoughts about modern society. And, wow…when they hit the part after the second chorus…mind blowing. Just amazing, The lyrics to some are absurd and shouldn’t be there since it’s such a nice song but I think they really are good lyrics and are indeed thought provoking.
Last Song by Gackt – in Japanese, but you can tell the lyrics are beautiful just by hearing it. After searching the translated lyrics, I realized how correct I was…I can most definitely relate to this song. (Also to his song Hoshi no Suna)
My Skin by Natalie Merchant – it’s just…beautiful.
Well, I think I’ve put enough for now. ^_^ Gotta love the lyrics!
