What Am I Missing With Oasis?

Probably my least favorite band of al time, yet people still rate them highly as a band?
*I* think Noel and Liam Gallagher are *the* two most arrogant pricks to ever walk the face the earth who think they are 10000% better than they really are. Bland basslines and generic riffs, overrated lyrics, whiney vocals, short and weak guitar solos, And I really think they are direct Beatles rip-offs trying to smother and disguise it with tracing a modern “alternative” sound to it, and does the drummer just bang pans and pots together? Really doesn’t keep any consistent pattern going and actually interferes with the ryhthm they were trying to pursuit, I just think overall as a band, they are a mess.
No offense to Oasis fans, but what am I missing here? Can you give me some reasons to why they are not as bad as I’ve interpreted them to be. And can we keep this civil and constructive, whoever attempts to turn this into a mud-sling, I will block.

I am a Beatles fan, but I cannot stomach Oasis. I think they are horrendous.
Liam and Noel Gallagher are the very definition of the term “spoiled rotten brats”
Never liked Oasis, never will – perhaps if they stopped trying to rip off The Beatles at every turn, I may have liked them better

I watched recently interview with Noel and Liam and they were nice.
about their music, yeah nothing special (dare to say copy of Beatles), ppl say their deubt album is the best deubt album ever, and that Wonderwall song… they were good in the past.
Have to admit I have What’s the Story (Morning Glory) and Stop the Clocks in my cd collection

Not all bands are for everyone.
I don’t see why Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin are so huge, but I don’t question why they are. They just are.

Oasis are really boring when it comes to britpop.
Suede and Pulp were much better.

Apart from plagiarising the Beatles’ back catalogue, a lot of people like them (though splitting up in my opinion was the best thing they have ever done for music). They have influenced a lot of modern-day bands, many of which, okay, you may not like but again, quite a few people do. True, they have released the same song over and over again for the past 15 or so years and the Gallagher brothers need to take a long walk off a short pier/ plank/ cliff, but music is music and you can’t please everyone I suppose. :)

different music is just for different people..the choice is yours and to keep everything in place i just say..good music is everywhere you just have to be willing to hear it. so go ahead and choose your likes and dislikes but just don’t stick to one genre or specific thing you hate. so I’m not going to convert you to liking them but i just have to say be aware of certain opinions people have to say. you don’t or may not even agree but the point made is that well like i said..different music is for different people.
i’m a pretty big oasis fan myself if you can see. and i do have to say their new album dig out your soul wasn’t that almighty and great as people make it seem.
