As a dedicated and long-time Oasis fan, let me clue you in on Liam’s interview decorum:
50% of what he says is tongue-in-cheek B.S. It’s braggadocio as a pop culture song-and-dance, presumably to deflect the press from exploring his true self, his family, his political views, etc. To be angered by anything Liam says is to miss the inherent humor and therefore miss the point of rock ‘n’ roll.
On a related note, I want to share this excerpt from a reaction to John Lennon’s death in 1980, written by legendary critic and taste-maker Lester Bangs:
“I can’t mourn John Lennon. I didn’t know the guy. But I do know that when all is said and done, that’s all he was–a guy. The refusal of his fans to ever let him just be that was finally almost as lethal as his “assassin” (and please, let’s have no more talk of this being a “political” killing, and don’t call him a “rock ‘n’ roll martyr”). Did you watch the TV specials on Tuesday night? Did you see all those people standing in the street in front of the Dakota apartment where Lennon lived singing “Hey Jude”? What do you think the _real_–cynical, sneeringly sarcastic, witheringly witty and iconoclastic–John Lennon would have said about that?”
To extend Bangs’ point, I can’t help but feel Lennon would so get Liam & Noel Gallagher and appreciate their attitude and humor, even while pompous so-called Beatles fans sternly wag their fingers.

Aha, still being an egotistic, benevolent, deposit.
You can’t argue Lennon said they were more popular then Jesus, Liam is just doing the same pretty much. Still it’s insulting to downgrade another work, to make yours look better.

Yeah, they have always tried and / or proclaimed to be better than the Beatles, but they were nothing more than a glorified Beatles-wanna-be band…There is no comparison, The Beatles all the way!!

Get over it.Liam Gallagher isn’t the first or last musician who will proclaim his band’s latest album as the greatest album ever made.

comparisons like these have no credability. you better be one hell of a band before you compare yourselves to the beatles or any of music legend for that matter
    :)
