   Neil Young is amazing, he’s Canadian!
   You’re right though, they’d probably not make it on that show but let’s be honest the show is fixed anyway.

   music artists find record deals in several different ways. although you’re right some of these artists might not have made it past the judges, they have found record company’s who knew how to make them big and did so. american idol does the same thing. if they believe someone has even the potential to become a success they recognize it and put them through, however, unlike other record companies, American idol is harder because the artist themself has to work much much harder in order to obtain a record deal. for these reasons, no i dont think american idol is stupid at all.
